Since I got back in Manila, i've been trying to furnish my condo at the Fort. Pity, it has been available for me to use for more than a year but I've been in the US and thus wasn't able to put any time on it.

And as I try to shop around Metro Manila for what I need... I realize how people in Singapore or in the US have it "easy". They are lucky enough to have IKEA.

If you are like me who have been looking at home and decor magazines, i'm sure you'd understand what I mean. I've visited IKEA in Singapore last February and just recently the new IKEA in Cincinnati, US. And I can only wish I can bring home what I saw.

IKEA has all you need for furnishing your home... with all the key essential elements... Form, Function and Affordability!

The IKEA stores are huge. It starts at the 2nd floor where you go around showrooms of living rooms, bed rooms, bathrooms, etc where everything inside the room you can buy in the store!!! So, if you see a nice design idea you like? List down the parts and shop for them there or at the marketplace found in the 1st floor.

SMART! The layout casually leads would be buyers throughout the store making you see everything they offer then makes it very easy for you to find them on your own and put them on your shopping cart.

When I was in Cincinnati, I had a chance to shop and even with the criteria of: it must fit my luggage, it must be something I need, it must be something I can't find back home... I ended up with a full shopping cart! And leaving the store wishing I could bring that one nice corner office cabinet or that nice bed!

I wish we had IKEA in Manila. It would have made my life much easier and furnishing my condo much more fun.

Hehehe, sobrang matutuwa si Pat 'pag may Ikea sa Manila. Anyway, I don't think SM can offer what Ikea can but there are a lot of good quality and affordable merchandise in SM.

Yel - i'm sure marami who have tried one would be excited. SM nga is the nearest selection and price-wise. IKEA kasi owns a lot of the ideas there so di magaya ng kahit sino

Danny - pag kumpleto na and I am able to entertain guests :)

Jobim - may nakita nga ako... may multiply site din sya and they do sell authentic IKEA products with one big exception... they are not able to maintain the price. I saw the price of one item which they are selling for 3x the price sa US. Sayang nga eh. Pero siguro worth a look sa showroom nila. Balitaan mo ako kung plano mo pumunta

I want to see your new condo too.

I somehow saw in one blog that there is (?) an IKEA somewhere in Quezon City, although it's just a little showroom filled with items that can be hand-carried and not the big furniture types. I forgot where I read that and lost the URL of the Pinoy blog. :P

Yeah, people here in Singapore got it easy with getting nice furniture courtesy of IKEA. I already see so many things I could buy also for our new house, although I don't know yet the most efficient way of transporting these back home.

Marvin - At least siguro when i have the airconditioning set pwede na. :P

Gio - Hopefully nga we can have a gang get-together minsan. The pool is nice so a good gimik for the "kids". I haven't really though about your dilemma in IKEA for Singapore. Hehe. I guess you have to take cabs every so often. Remember those big stuff usually require assembly... if not (like sofas) they should be offering delivery.

Errol - Nag-improve na since you last went. Hehe. May dining, stove-oven and ref na. :)
