There a lot of these videos... I will edit it before posting them. This is more or less a teaser... Video594.mp4 (4.6 MB)
Posted by Stephen on Apr 14, '08 12:24 PM for everyone | | Coming from a business trip in Cincinnati, I decided to visit my brother in Phoenix Arizona for the weekend on the way home to Manila
I visited Old Scottsdale one more time and see more of the city and the expensive art galleries ($4,500 for a painting is the usual price I saw!).
I also had a chance to return to Sedona... a tourist destination 1 1/2 hours drive from Phoenix. I had a chance to hike and enjoy the scenary one more time. Sedona is definitely a place you'd want to go to and return from time to time. The weather was great and being 4,000 feet above sea level, it usually is cooler there. This time of the year is the best time to go... just cool enough for a hike and enjoy the clear skies.
Returning to Phoenix, me and my brother went up Pinnacle Peak, a popular destination for tourist and locals alike. Joggers or folks out for a leisurely walk would go up this hill and have a grand view of Phoenix and Scottsdale all the way! Aside from the huge sequoia cacti, we also saw rattlesnakes along the way... nice!
Unfortunately, I did not have my DSLR camera... so took all these pictures using my trusty SD600 point and shoot. |
Posted by Stephen on Dec 4, '07 7:38 PM for everyone Being in P&G, (as most "P&Gers" can attest) sometimes we just travel too much. I'm not complaining but it does saps one's energy. The luggage packing... hours of wait in the airport... stripping down for security search (and in NAIA, you have to go through it 3 times!)... and having to stay seated for hours on the plane and hope you don't get the seat beside an irritable seatmate or be right next to the lavatories. So whatever helps make your air travel more bareable would help, right? That's where SeatGuru.com comes in. It tells you the best seats and which seats to avoid on most planes. Airlines have different sitting configurations for each plane and they are not created equal. Some areas are reserved for families with children while others have much more leg room. If you're a frequent flyer, take advantage of preferred seating reserved for members. So take some time in choosing your seats! http://www.seatguru.com/ Happy trip!
Posted by Stephen on Nov 12, '07 1:24 PM for everyone Just watched Avenue Q in broadway, NY and it was great! I'm glad that we watched it when we did cause the very next day they went on strike (ala WGA). Here's the complete soundtrack: http://bleau72.multiply.com/music/item/92/Avenue_Q_Soundtrack Update: I've just watched the local production here in Manila last Saturday. I wish they had a local version of the album as well... cause they sang it better :)

Posted by Stephen on Aug 21, '07 12:15 AM for everyone I went again to Chicago this weekend... this time with Marge, Alex, Dennis, Bondz, Ermel and Shar with our ever gracious hosts My and Bai (former P&G collegues). We had a great time even the bummer rainy weather during that weekend. Here are the best pics from our trip!
Posted by Stephen on Aug 15, '07 1:05 AM for everyone This past weekend, we decided to spend it in Chicago. We went to the Wizard World which was a comic convention where anything sci-fi participates - comics, shows, movies, card games, anime, etc. It was my first time to attend such an event and I really was there to see attendees who come in costumes! We weren't disappointed as we saw a lot of people in costumes... and some of them i'd say were really good! Shared some pictures in the link below along with other pics of our stay in downtown chicago. http://sqlocarinas.multiply.com/photos/album/5/Wizard_world_chicago
Posted by Stephen on Jun 25, '07 10:32 PM for everyone I came for an SAP seminar, I met some stars! For those of you who'd been playing poker and have watched some of the tournaments on TV @ ESPN2, then definitely you'd know this guy! Phil Hellmuth, one of the best players in the world and the record WSOP bracelet holder with 11 (he just overtook Doyle Brunson in this months events). Made my week to see them there in Las Vegas in action. Not only Phil but also all the big names - Greg Raymer, Daniel Negranu, Doyle and Todd Brunson, Chris Ferguson, Mike Matusow, Annie Duke, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Barry, Mike Sexton, Menn "The Master", John Juanda, and Scotty Nguyen.
Posted by Stephen on Apr 17, '07 2:55 AM for everyone In the age of digital cameras, almost anybody can be a photography enthusiast. May it be a simple point and shot or the an expensive SLR camera's, the picture is only as good as the photographer that captures it. Here is one candid shot I took when I was in a trip to Arizona with my brother (front) and friends. Yes, there were hundreds of pictures I took of the Grand Canyon, but this was one of my favorites just because it captures our moment there and tells the story of our trip to Arizona.
Posted by Stephen on Apr 16, '07 11:30 PM for everyone One of many group pictures we had on our Arizona Trip. This one in Sedona at the start of our late afternoong trek. Taken by Rodney, I loved this semi-posed pictures which makes more of an interesting story to tell in a picture.
Posted by Stephen on Nov 6, '06 8:58 PM for everyone It's the middle of fall... and we can all feel it here. Two weekends ago, the pinoy group downtown decided to experience it more in scenic red river gorge. The link will show some of the best pictures from everybody's camera in this Kentucky state park. Takes some time to load but it's worth it ^_^ Of course, we didn't only go to take pictures of the place. It is a very "pinoy" thing to do that at every step, we were enjoying taking pictures of each other. Here we some of the pics of us having fun at the park. Enjoy!
Posted by Stephen on Aug 5, '06 8:47 PM for everyone I'm on my way home to Manila for a visit but before I do, I stopped over to Newark, NJ to meet with my brother and HS friends here. My friends and I went back to Six Flags this past weekend and had a blast! There was a storm just a day ago which explains why when we went there there was no crowd eventhough it was a perfect sunny day. Lucky! We went early and as soon as we got inside we went straight for the roller coasters. First up, the Nitro! There was no queue so we enjoyed a nice smooth long ride and afterwhich went straight back for a second trip!!! I had a video of this when I first rode it some years ago... I just have to find it and share it in youtube. And just like our first trip here, we wasted no time and went straight to nearby "Batman" ride. It wasn't as a smooth a ride as Nitro but this time, you ride suspended (no floors) in the air as you go for loops and turns. It's not new but still a fun experience to repeat! From one superhero to another, if Batman was a ride where you're suspended... Superman of course orients you in a way there you are riding face down to the ground! Definitely best experience if your "seated" in front of the ride making you feel as if floating in the air seeing nothing keeping you from falling down nor seeing what's ahead of you as it loops around! But the best ride that we had was the new roller coaster in Six Flags called Kingda Ka. So new that they still have not ironed out the kinks off it... my friend says it's always close when they go there. We had to wait in line for this not because of the crowd but because mid-way when we were lining up, it had "minor" problems that they had to shut it down for nearly an hour. But it was well worth it! Even if it was just a 30 second ride, it was definitely worth it! A picture won't do justice... so I had a video taken of it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmh1CV8WJFk
